Little Known Technique For Veterans, Saving Them Thousands Per Year on Their Mortgage
The tough economic times have caused many people to tighten their belts. Homeowners that thought they were in a comfortable place are now starting to struggle with mortgage payments because of layoffs, rising interest rates or other financial shifts. All segments of the population are facing new challenges in their finances.
VA homeowners have not been immune to the economic downturn. They have found themselves in situations where the mortgage payments are causing a strain on shifting financial situations. Fortunately there is a way to help relieve some of that strain.
Streamline Refinance program through the VA allows homeowners to lower their interest rates and payments through an interest rate reduction loan program. Many of these loans can be created with very little (and sometime no) out of pocket expense for the homeowner. Because the program is specifically for restructuring current VA mortgages it is often possible to get one of these loans faster than other similar loans and usually with less documentation.
This VA Streamline Refinance often means no appraisal is needed. There is no need to do an income verification or credit check. Loans are often done without ever having a face to face meeting. These are just some of the reasons the process can move so much faster than with more traditional loans.
Not all homeowners are eligible for the Streamline Refinance program. It is only available to veterans who are REFINANCING their original VA mortgages with their original eligibility. The mortgage must have been paid on time for the last twelve months and it must be current. The VA mortgage must be the primary loan and all other loans or liens must be subordinate.
There are some negatives to the VA Streamline Refinance program. There is no eligibility for cashing out during the process which means the Streamline Refinance can not be uses as a loan consolidation program. There as closing costs with the loan (although they can be rolled into the refinance). And if you are already struggling to make your payments then this program will not work for your situation if you have been late or are delinquent.
The best news about the Streamline Refinance program is that it allows homeowners to refinance a current mortgage interest rate to a lower rate. These lower payments often release the stress on financial situations and make it easier for homeowner to make the monthly payments on the loans.
There are many different ways to utilize the VA Streamline Refinance program. Many companies specialize in these loans. The best thing to do is to talk to your current mortgage holder about the possibility of modifying your loan through the VA Streamline Refinance program.
The economy has been tough on many homeowners. Finding some relief in any direction is a good thing. Getting lower payments by lowering interest rates helps to take the pressure off many budgets that are already stretched way too thin. The VA Streamline Refinance program can be a quick and affordable way to get those lower interest rates.
